like to keep in touch. Thanks! Hope to see you all n the 3rd. Helen

Subject: Hi from Vicky

Hi Pam, Could you forward this to the crazy lady email list please?  Starting this week, July 2 we are moving the Wednesday ride to 8:30 am.  Please meet at 8:15 for the 8:30 departure.  As it has been so hot lately, we can evaluate the time and see if we need to move it even earlier.  Last week we rode Asotin Creek and added on towards Hellers Bar for a total of 30 miles.  Marcia's daughter Stephanie joined us, we hope to hear how their 70-mile Lance Armstrong ride went last weekend.  I think they had better weather this year than last year!  Hope to see ALL of you this Wednesday. Vicky

Ride January 11th

Hi everyone!

What's up with all the rain?  I heard a few rode last week.  Hope it was a good one and you stayed dry.  :)

This week meet as usual at Southway Boat Launch at 8:45 for a 9:00 departure.

This is going to be my last email notification to the group.  I'm going to be traveling with Steve more and it looks like June is a busy month.  I just can't do it justice when I'm not here.  So you'll have to talk about it and figure out who's going to take over.  Whoever does it can just send a forward from this email and will have all the addresses plus the blog address already.  I can try to work with the new person to import the addresses to their mail program, but I can't promise anything.  It's kind of hit or miss.

I'll still ride whenever I can.  I miss seeing everyone!!!!

Ride June 4th

June is here!  Can you believe the beautiful days we've been having?  There was sure a good turnout last week for the ride.  Good to see so many of you that we haven't seen in awhile.  :)

This week meet at 8:45 for a 9:00 departure from Swallows Nest Boat Launch.  Same time, same place.

I also need to pass off the announcement job to someone who is willing to take over.  I'm going to be gone a lot this summer and don't feel like I'm doing it justice.  Any volunteers?  Let me know and I'll get you set up with the email list.

Thanks, and have a great ride this week!

Ride and Birthday Miles

Ok all you adventurous gals!  This week is Pam's birthday miles (and Leane's as well, but she's one mile older than I am.)  We will begin our ride at 9:00 from the Southway Boat Launch Parking lot.  That means, be there at 8:45 and we leave at 9, lest there be confusion.  What am I talking about?  There's ALWAYS confusion, right?

The plan is to do the Lindsay Creek Loop.  My logs say it usually takes us about 2 hours, so about 11:00 we'll swing back by the parking lot.  We'll still need to add on.... um..... about 29 more miles.  If any of you want to join us later, that will work as well.  The second half should be flatter --maybe upriver or Asotin Creek.

Thanks to Helen for a lovely lunch and party last week.  It's always a joy to get together with the Crazies.  We rode out to Asotin, stopped to see Sandie who is recuperating from surgery.  She gives new meaning to "black and blue."  :)  It was fun meeting Kathy from Michigan who was a trooper on her mountain bike.  I'm sure she'd put us all to shame if she could get us out on the trails in Michigan though.

All rides will begin at 9:00 from now on.

See you Wednesday, either at 9 or 11ish.

Lunch on Wednesday

Don't forget..... this Wednesday we meet at Helen's house (1544 Hillcrest Way, Clarkston) at 10:30 for a great ride before Leane's retirement celebration lunch.  If you can't ride, just come for lunch.  Please RSVP Helen so she'll know how many are coming.  :)

See you Wed.

Ride May 7th!!!

Last Wednesday Helen and Marcia took a chilly ride up Asotin Creek.  Seems like Wednesday wasn't the nicest day of the week.  Hope you got out on some of those warmer days and got in some miles.

Helen and I did the Evans Loop ride on Thursday and successfully changed a flat with a CO2 cartridge.  We felt so proud!

Julie and Leane returned from their West Coast adventure.  From the pictures they sent over it looks like they summited at 500 ft.  I was kinda bummed because up until now I held the lowest summit record with 656 feet at Clatsop Crest near Astoria.  I think they enjoyed the wine, too.

This week we ride at 10:30 from the Southway Boat Launch parking lot.  Meet at 10:15 for a 10:30 departure.  Watch for any of the new ladies. We hope you join us.  :)

Next week is the retirement luncheon for Leane.  Remember to RSVP  Helen by Wed. so she can get the pizza.  We will leave from Helen's house at 10:30 and return there for lunch.

May 21st we are moving our ride time up to 9:00..... weather permitting.  Come on Spring!!!

Next Ride Wed April 23rd

Leane, Vicky, and Julie started early last week since Leane had to get to work.  Pam came late, so thank goodness for cell phones!  We headed out toward Asotin, met up with the heavy equipment on the levy and turned back.  It was glass city everywhere we went!  Thank goodness for Julie and her trusty broom.  It's so witchy looking when she rides with it.  :)

We met up with Marcia and Jennifer and headed downriver.  Leane and Julie turned back at Roosters.  Only a couple more weeks and Leane won't have work getting in the way.  The rest of us continued down to the heron rookery where we saw some herons on their nests and a bunch of cormorants as well.  Then, surprise of all surprises, we had a tailwind to bring us home.

This week we'll again meet at 10:15 for a 10:30 start from the Southway Boat Launch.  Let's hope those snowflakes will soon quit flying.  What kind of April is this anyway?

Today I heard of a new lady who is interested in riding.  Her name is Bev Nelson.  Hopefully we'll see you one of these days, Bev.

See you all Wednesday!

Five hardy riders showed up for the rather brisk take off on Wed. Leane (she already had 13 miles on her odometer from riding outside!) Julie (she was already warm from her spinning class), Pam, Helen, and a seldom seen soul Tamra E. who had a day off work. Although it was 42 degrees when I left my house it was 51 when I got home. I guess that’s a bit nippy for the guys. Corrie? Lance? Anyway it turned out to be the nicest day of the week.

We had an awesome display of otters in the river playing quite close to the bank. They seemed as curious about us as we were about them. Other then that it was a nice ride up Tammany Creek Rd. Some people head for the rocking chair when they get old, Helen’s just designing a more comfortable bike seat.

Wed Ride March 26th

Lovely ride last week. Vicky, Julie and Tammy tackled the Anatone grade, and Ellen, Jennifer and Pam took the low road up Asotin Creek. Leane had a pre-Crazy Lady start, so turned back at Asotin to head to work. That work thing has just gotta go!
We'll give it another try this week, Southway Boat Ramp at 10:15 for a 10:30 start. Rain is in the forecast, so let's keep our fingers crossed and hopefully we'll be able to dodge the raindrops.

We're up and running

Welcome to the Crazy Lady blog site!

The season is off to a good start -- a little chilly yet, but spring is definitely on its way.

Last week Julie, Leane, Vicky, Tamara, Helen and Pam rode the Evans Road loop and then out to the Asotin ballfields for a beautiful ride. Helen showed up on her new Trek. She always wanted a red bike, and now she's got one!

Kathy's on the mend after some leg surgery, and a few flu bugs are still hanging about with some other members. Hopefully we'll have everyone out on the bikes real soon.

I'll be passing around the chance to do the ride write-up. We all deserve a chance to tell our stories!

Keep those Wednesday's clear on the calendar.
